Water Brake Dynamometer
The Power Test X-Series water brake dynamometer is designed for testing a wide range of equipment with one unit. Each of these fixed base dynamometers may be used for continuous-duty power verification, quality assurance, engine development, endurance, and certification tests.
Power Test water brake dyno absorbers use water directly within the absorption chamber for applying load to an engine. The water brake dyno requirements depend upon the load requirements, thereby conserving water and allowing low minimum load conditions. Unlike other dynamometers, an interruption in water flow will not cause expensive failures and prolonged down time. In addition, our X-Series water brake dynamometer features removable bearing and seal housings, allowing in-cell renewal should the need arise.
Water Brake Dynamometer - 50X-Series - Up to 1000 HP (746kW)
50X-Series water brake dynamometers are used for testing electric motors and in industrial gasoline and light to medium range diesel applications. The 50X-Series water brake engine dyno feature non-ferrous alloy construction for reduced inertia. Brake dyno power ranges from 20-1000 HP, speeds to 6,000 RPM.

Our 35X-Series water brake dynamometers are used for testing the majority of diesel engines. The 35X-Series water brake engine dyno is available in six configurations for brake dyno testing from 50 HP to 2,100 HP at speeds up to 4,000 RPM.
Water Brake Dynamometer - 45X-Series - Up to 4500 HP (3356kW)
For testing on-highway through off-highway and marine diesel applications, the 45X-Series water brake dynamometers are available in five configurations for brake dyno testing from 100 HP to 4,500 HP at speeds to 4,000 RPM. The 45X water brake dyno may also be used in tandem applications for increased testing capabilities.
