Power Test water brake engine dynamometers excel at testing wide ranges of power inputs with one dynamometer. Engine dynamometers are used to test engines removed from the vehicle. We offer several configurations for different dyno test applications.
The H36-Series engine dynamometer is specifically designed to handle the high torque output of engines found in the mining, power generation and marine propulsion industries. This Series has power absorption capabilities of up to 50,000 ft-lbs of torque and up to 10,000HP.
Our X-Series fixed base dynamometer may be used for continuous-duty endurance dyno tests, break-in and power verification, quality assurance tests and demanding research and development tests such as transient emissions testing. Our engine carts offer the flexibility of moving an engine within your facility, and ensure quick, precise placement to our sub bases.
Our portable water brake dynamometers connect directly to the flywheel to allow engine dyno testing in facilities with limited space.
In addition to water brake engine dynamometers, Power Test has Eddy Current engine dynamometers. The Power Test EC-Series of engine dynamometers feature in-line eddy current absorption units in a robust compact frame. They may be used for continuous-duty engine power verification, quality assurance, endurance and certification testing.

Power Test offers outstanding dynamometer data acquisition and control systems including basic instrumentation and controls, specially designed desktop PC systems and interfaces, and our advanced Workstation systems. Chassis Dynamometers
Power Test manufactures single, tandem, and multi-axle chassis dynamometer test systems built around either an eddy current absorber or the legendary performance and durability of our water brake dynamometers.
Available in both 20″ and 40″ diameter fixed and adjustable roll sets, all of our chassis dynamometers feature heavy-duty frames and precision balanced roll sets.
The latest in dyno testing products from Power Test is our EC-Series eddy current dynamometers. Featuring air-cooled eddy current load absorbers, the EC-Series provides a heavy duty, cost-effective dyno test solution without reliance on water or a cooling system.
For complete power train diagnostics, Power Test exclusively offers our patented motorized chassis dynamometer. Now engine, transmission, drive train, retarder and brake testing, as well as alignment verification, can all be performed on a single machine.
PowerNet CD chassis dynamometer software is specifically designed for Power Test chassis dynamometers. The system includes a hand held touch-screen device that gives the operator full control of the dynamometer without leaving the driver’s seat

Transmission & Hydraulic Component Test Stands
AIDCO Test Systems offers the latest in modern, electric motor and hydrostatically-driven transmission test stands. All units may include an air-cooled eddy current absorber (standard on the 450E), resulting in minimal dyno test cell noise and reduced maintenance.
The 900 and 850-Series Hydraulic Test Centers provide a platform for performance testing gear pumps, vane pumps, hydrostatic pumps and hydraulic motors, cylinders, and valves as well as a platform for dyno tests for cross-drive, power shift, and automatic transmissions and torque converters.
The AIDCO 450-Series transmission test stand is designed for testing all automatic and power shift transmissions used in commercial applications as well as automotive and military transmission dyno tests.
Additionally, AIDCO Test systems offers a variety of complimentary transmission and hydraulic dynamometer testing components, including valve body test stands, electronic shift consoles, and a variety of kits and adapters.
